Here we go! After a tremendous WrestleMania Saturday, let's see if they can keep up the momentum...
I think this may have been the first time in ages Stephanie McMahon was cheered! In fairness, she had an epic opening. So did Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins, whose ring entrances both set things up for a big-fight feel.
Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre was an outstanding match that really played off the previous night's injury to Rollins. They managed to not go overly long, but still get a great match in the ring. And the Punk interference/Damien Priest cash-in, while predictable, was just perfect. I loved everything about this opening.
I'm quite surprised that WWE went all out for the Philadelphia Street Fight with The Pride vs. The New Testament, adding Bubba Ray Dudley as a ref and Snoop Dogg as a commentator... but it was a great way to add interest to the story. The match itself was lots of fun, and a great way to showcase these six guys while also delivering a nice tribute to The Dudley Boyz.
Despite a decent showing for both men, LA Knight and AJ Styles just didn't light my world on fire. I never got into the original story, and that's probably why. Still, this one went on way too long for something that is the very definition of a mid-card match.
Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton vs. Logan Paul was just about as picture-perfect as you could ask for a Triple Threat Match. Every moment in that match meant something, and all three men tried to steal the show. I am all for Logan Paul being one of the top heels in WWE, and this victory may give him the ability to do just that. Fantastic match.
Bayley vs. Iyo SKY started off a bit slow (and admittedly, had a tough act to follow after the previous match), but really started cooking about seven to eight minutes in. The story of Bayley's injured knee was well done, and this was honestly one of Iyo's best matches on the main roster. This was an NXT style womens match, and I mean that in the highest possible regard.
What can you possibly say about Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns? I literally had a smile on my face from the beginning of the entrances to the final frame. It was a phenomenal match, showcasing really both men and how they could steal the show. Yes, the outside interference was next-level, but you knew that going into it (The Undertaker was the only true surprise there). By the time, Cody won the title, this was not just a WrestleMania moment, but an all-time wrestling moment. You could tell by the excitement of everyone in that ring, that this was truly the start of a new era in wrestling.
One of the better WrestleManias I've ever seen, with WrestleMania Sunday being a somewhat stronger show, but both were very much worth your time.
